Peer Review Policy
Peer Review Policy – Pakistan Journal of Urology (PJU)
The Pakistan Journal of Urology (PJU) follows a rigorous, double-blind peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of scientific integrity, accuracy, and relevance in urological research. The journal adheres to international best practices and ethical guidelines as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Assessment
All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary evaluation by the editorial office to ensure compliance with the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and ethical considerations. Manuscripts that do not meet basic criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at this stage.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review Process
PJU employs a double-blind review system, where both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other, ensuring an unbiased and objective assessment. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent expert reviewers with expertise in the relevant field of urology.

The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with section editors, makes the final decision based on reviewer feedback. Authors are given an opportunity to respond to reviewer comments and submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe.
5. Ethical Considerations and Confidentiality
PJU maintains strict confidentiality throughout the peer-review process. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed by authors and reviewers. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and duplicate submissions are strictly prohibited.
